Military families can be found in every neighborhood, regardless of the fact that most of the bases are located on the southern and southeastern edge of Colorado Springs. Many military families who do not live on base think nothing of a little longer commute so their children can attend schools in award winning Academy School District 20.

Academy School District 20’s boundaries lie between Baptist Road and the USAFA to the north, Vollmer Road to the East, Pike National Forest to the west, and along an irregular line on the south side of the District that runs north of Fillmore west of I-25, to Dublin Blvd and Woodmen Road in the southeast section of the District’s boundaries. The District’s northwestern boundary includes the Air Force Academy.
