Peterson Air Force Base Information

Peterson AFB is located east of Colorado Springs on the north end of the Colorado Springs Airport. The main entrance off of Stewart is open 24 hours.

A new main exchange and commissary are located on the east side of the base easily accessed from Marksheffel Road which runs parallel to Powers to the east.

The base does have some housing, but it is very limited and dated. Children on base are bused to District-11 schools.

The following are suggested routes and approximate drive times from various Academy District-20 neighborhoods to Peterson Air Force Base:

• Northwest D-20 (Gleneagle, Flying Horse, Pine Creek, Pleasant View Estate): 30-20 minutes (Hwy 83 to Powers, Powers south to Platte, east to N. Peterson Blvd ,south to north entrance)
• Northeast D-20 (Black Forest): 25-35 minutes (Black Forest Road/Blvd or Meridian south to Woodmen west to Powers Blvd., south to Platte, east to N. Peterson Blvd., south to north entrance)
• Central D-20 (Briargate): 15-20 minutes (Research east to Powers, south to Platte, east to N. Peterson Blvd, south to north entrance)
• Southwest D-20 (Peregrine, Woodmen Valley, Rockrimmon): 25-35 minutes (Rockrimmon Blvd West to I-25 south to the Airport Exit, east to Powers, south to Platte, east to N. Peterson Blvd., south to north entrance)
• Southeast D-20 (Cordera, Wolf Ranch): 15-20 minutes (Powers south to Platte, east to N. Peterson Blvd., south to north entrance)
