Winner of the 2001 Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award for Best Play, PROOF by David Auburn explores the enigmatic natures of love and math. This play is produced entirely by a PPCC student design and build team; stars PPCC students Nicholle James, Isabel Chavez, and Brandon Foster, with guest actor John A. Zincone; and is directed by Sarah S. Shaver, PPCC Theatre Department Chair, and Springs Ensemble Theatre member. Catherine, a troubled young woman, has spent years caring for her brilliant but unstable father, Robert, a famous mathematician, and professor at the University of Chicago. Now, following his death, she must deal with her own volatile emotions; the arrival of her estranged sister, Claire; and the attentions of Hal, a former student of her father's who hopes to find valuable work in the 103 notebooks that her father left behind. Over the long weekend that follows, a blossoming romance and the discovery of a mysterious notebook containing a paradigm-shifting proof draw Catherine into the most difficult problem of all: How much of her father's madness—or genius—will she inherit? Can Catherine prove the proof's authorship?

Fantastical Alice in Wonderland, Jr.  to Set World Record.  The Nonprofit, Academy of Community Theatre (ACT II) performs the Disney musical, Alice in Wonderland Jr. and works to set Guinness World Record status for its incredible pop-up book set. This musical adaptation is based on Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. From the story, Alice wonders “Have I gone mad?" Her father answers, "I'm afraid so. You're entirely bonkers...but I'll tell you a secret, all the best people are.” Directors Rick Long, of Denver, and Katie Wyckoff are among the best of people and don’t disappoint with their crazy vision to enliven the audience’s experience. They bring us a fantastical adventure story with the playful, confusing chaos that make Alice Adventures in Wonderland a classic in literature and the adaptation, a delight on stage.
